Currency Research

I have an idea to create currency paying homage to important women of the U.S.  I'm still undecided of the final design but will be posting as I go along.

global currency examples and meanings

features of 5 pounds

I decided to create currency the size of a pound (70mm x 135mm or 2.75in x 5.31in).  I like the rectangular size of the currency.

3 dollar bill

Just an update...Still in process of creating bills but discovered my idea may not work with each bill. So I decided Michelle Obama will be featured on each bill with a different color pattern for each denomination.  Examples coming soon

Adjustments

Adjustments Used: Color Range, Levels, and Posterize.  Created a new layer, filled it with an aqua color, changed blending mode to screen, and added a paint effect (paint dabs).

Manipulate + Create

Who doesn't belong in this picture?  Played around with the HDR settings to give the image a beveled look.  Did some other random adjustments with color to give it that nostalgic feel. Also used a heavy brush and changed the blending options.

I decided to change the pin-up only since she is the focal point.  I wanted the image to fade in and out of each other.  I used some blending methods to get the effect.

I originally censored her breast but after playing around with the blending options and adding some girly features I decided to keep this as is. I also added a can of duff beer and a kitten

I decided to pierce the frog because he looked so chill sitting on the leaf.  I also changed the vibrance settings to saturate the color a bit.

This model has one flaw.  Can you spot it?

I Stumpled Upon...

The first thing that came to mind was "He looks real".Amazing installation.  I have a love for installation pieces mainly because you can do things out of the ordinary in random spaces.  He looks as if he is hiding or ashamed of something. We have all been here before well some of us anyway. Check out the rest of the Ron Mueck’s work below.
